The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics is a gift of former Kansas Senator and Presidential candidate, Bob Dole. It contains many of Dole's papers from over the course of his political career, and hosts a varying series of political speakers over the course of each year. The building's facade is dominated by a giant stained glass window depicting an American flag; inside the lobby, a wall displays cloth reproductions of photos of Kansas World War II veterans and the floor is a massive map of the state. The non-partisan institute is located on the University of Kansas campus, next to the Lied Center for the Performing Arts.
