This scenic floodplains area features a dazzling variety of beautiful flora and fauna, including native grasses like the Big Bluestem, Indian grass and Western Wheat. The open space is also host to three fishing ponds, which are a great place to spot a various water fowl, including the native bald eagle. The park is located near the Kanza Southwind Nature Preserve, south of the city, and sits alongside the South Lawrence Trafficway, a walking and biking path that runs west to the Clinton Reservoir.
